The minimum qualification required is a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology /equivalent in related discipline with not less than aggregate marks of 60%  (50%  in  case of  SC/ST candidates)

The minimum qualification required is a  Master’s Degree/ equivalent with aggregate marks not less than 60%  (50% in case of SC/ST candidates)

 

Age limit Criteria

The minimum age limit must be 21 years & maximum upper limit permitted is 30 years as on 01.03.2018

Selection Process

The candidates eligible for a Scientist-b position will be required to apply & appear in an online exam conducted by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India. The tentative dates of examination are mentioned below. Eligible & qualified candidates short-listed will be called for interview for which the traveling expenses of second class train cost for to-and-fro traveling through shortest route will be paid to outstation candidates. Applicants shortlisted for the online examination will be called for a Personal/Technical Interview. The details related to Interview like time & date, interview center, an address of the venue, of Interview will be informed to the selected/shortlisted applicants through mail/ call letter. The applicants will be required to download their interview call letters from BIS official website www.bis.gov.in

  • Then after entering unique Registration No and Password will be generated to the login page in future.

Exam Cutoff Marks

Each & every candidate will be required to secure a minimum cut off marks of fifty percent in the online exam of “Technical related Knowledge of concerned Field/Discipline” & minimum of 50 % to clear an interview

Service Bond

The applicant, after recruitment/ appointment to the Scientist-B position available through BIS, India competitive examination, will be needed to go through a service bond agreement in the form specified by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India, for discharging a service for a minimum period of three years. If the candidate decides to leave the service/duty either by or absence or resignation from service without permission earlier than three years of time from the assigned date of employment, than applicant will be required to reimburse the amount of Bureau six months’ emoluments at the same rate drawn by him/her OR unless She/he has worked for a shorter interval of time in which applicants will be required to reimburse the entire amount drawn by her/him

Salary/Pay-Scale

The posts in Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India falls in the Pay Level 10 as per the Seventh Central Pay Commission with allowances facility as applicable. The gross pay scale/salary as per present date in New Delhi will be of the amount Rs. 79,929/- (Terms & Condition)
